No, I didn't die.

I've been psychotically lax in the upkeep of this blog, I know. I've been... well, sick, busy, tired, distracted - all manner of lame excuses for not updating this thing.

But I do have one good one - there is a good chance that this may be the last entry in this particular blog venue. I've got a potential new place to comment randomlike, and as soon as I get used to it and make things just so, well I'll let y'all know all about it.

Yes, I can smell your excitement from here.

Oh - and just to let you know that I haven't been completely missing:

Ho-

Lee-

FUCK!

Did you see the reunion show for Runway? OMG, is Vincent a total fucking prick or what? Did you see that insane hissy fit he pitched over his clothes? Somebody seriously needs to up their dosage. Where does Mr. Jetsons Dress get off telling the others that they're amateurs anyway? And that BS about Tim not liking him and talking down to him - oy Vincent, get over yourself and your head out of your ass. My hyperactive niece can design better clothes than you can. Oh, and that shithead Keith that got his lame ass kicked off can just go jump off a bridge for all I care. Everything he said in his defense regarding being booted for cheating was total crap.

Man, you have no idea how insane I have been going wanting to post the Runway dish and not wanting to deal with the Tripod ick that I should soon be rid of.

PS - I will be in California on Tuesday. I'll be up in the bay area for the last weekend of northern Faire, then I'll jaunt down to the IE real quick for the Tornado's haunted b-day luau and to visit the fam and friends. It'll be about a 2 week visit.

Nothing really exciting to report - this is mainly a post to keep from having a big blank spot on that calendar thingy. It sort of rambles - don't say I didn't warn you.

Thousands of years ago... [cue smoke machine]

It's so hot. Soooooo hoooooooot. No cooler in the window, no pads for the cooler, no battery in the pickup to drag the cooler to the window. Fortunately the heat doesn't kill me as badly and a little fan will suffice.

I know, I've been lagging. Once the hubby came into the IE I've basically been MIA. Hell, we got home on Wednesday and I'm only now getting the email out of the box. I'll see if I can remember anything of substance and still make it worth the read. Or not - you don't have to click it if you don't want to.

You so want to...

You should have gotten a snack ...

Green day come and gone

I figure by the time this gets posted it'll be 4:20. I've been up too long already now.

I was going to put up a happy Green Day notice on the actual date, but I can tell you what this 4/20 was in total lack of:

Internet, none to be had.

And there's no TV in the Tornado shelter, so what is the housecat to do? I mean besides the catnip, I can't just sit here and be loaded jones, can I?

I really suck at the Playstation thing. the Spongebob game finally sucked the life out of me just a bit ago, and the Simpsons game just got straight frustrating, with the cars and the not wrecking things up too bad. Eeeesh! I guess I'm nearing old now.

I tried to call the hubby a couple times, but I get dumped into voicemail without a ring. He must have forgotten to turn turn his phone on after the plane trip down to Dallas. I hope he and Ram have a good time with the house tour. I may have to get Ram's number on my phone, ya think?

Now that we're wired up again and I've done all my homework I'm stuck in that weird sleep-limbo state. I've been up long enough that I'm catching a 2nd wind, and the internet is a great way to stay awake. Only there's nothing to do now that everyone I pay attention to has gone to bed. I'm glad to have the games moving at a reliable pace, and it looks like Briar Co. Blues may make it to day 3 before I'm back home. Day 3!

Rambling... Hmmm... I think that's everything. Did I forget something?

It's been a week and a half, and there's a lot of shit to cover here. You may want to go get a snack. I better get one too, because this might take a while and I have blogs to read too.

Anyway...

First off I want to open with a warning - to those of you know know me well enough there will be a shocking phrase somewhere down in the text below. Make sure you are sitting down (which you should be if you are at the computer reading, you freak) because you may actually faint in astonishment.

Had a nice visit with Viva and her man-friend. Like an extra end to the week we got do do dinner and have a good time. Watched that curling thing, which I got all fascinated with. Didn't blog it, but I'll say it seems a weird genetic predestiny that when I mentioned it to Mom she said that's about all they had on tv where she grew up - that and hockey. Caught the Project Runway reunion show and laughed my ass off. Viva's man-friend didn't quite get it, but hey he didn't watch the whole show.

Oh, and she accidentally bought a tractor. Fortunately we girls got to watch - ooookay, now I feel mean about calling him her man-friend. This nickname thing... Anyway, he got to drive it out to the Ponderosa with us in the pickup leading him. But first he had to climb in the back window, because the door was jammed somehow. He got it parked by the barn, and then Viva and I were just hanging out in her pickup, waiting for him to get his butt out of the machine. Finally he starts opening the window and yelling that it won't stop running.

Oy. So good to be one of the girls. He finally got the thing secured, and I got more Viva time back at the house. And we had lunch at Leal's, which now seems to be the restaurant for company.

So now I'm burning one while I finish cleaning the lag out of the internet from this week. Busy busy busy busy busy. I've got 4 tabs now, and plinks off the #bearcave, and I'm getting stuff from the game bin updated so I can move them along. All kinds of crap happened this week.

Hell, these flavored ones aren't the only paper I got this week.

Tornado swept by again... Why is it I make sure to post from this particular jackpoint? Whoops - geekery leeked through. In an extremely random mood. Silly Veggi music dvd-ness is going on behind me. And snoring... We hit Worthington's again and had a pitcher of nice dark beer and waited for a friend of hers to show. Grabbed a bite on the way home and now we're relaxing. (She's just way ahead of me. She has work tomorrow.)

No idea wtf I'll be doing tomorrow til she gets home. Other than sleep of course. I may need my rest since there is this plan to do some sort of hill hikey thing.

Didn't get the Shadowrun game started the other night like I wanted. Gladius took over now that we've gotten pretty far along on it. It still boggles how much it looks like how I pictured many elements for Myth. Haven't talked Gryphage into playing it yet but I think he could be persuaded once he gets to read some of the better bits of background material. Gaming is chaos, of course. Had to have the hubby grab my KoE book so I can finish my character for that one.

And speaking of him - did I mention that he broke his foot. Not like snap, sprawling in pain, cast - he broke the end off of some small bone or something in his ankle (they want to do another x-ray) and it's in a horrible spot and inflamed. The doc put a boot on him because he didn't want to do crutches. And he's supposed to be coming out to Cali for the weekend and hit Faire on Sunday. Oy, gonna need a wheelchair.

I fear the fungus. I can say no more.

Do this, it amuses me: You know that song by Van Halen, Running With the Devil? Yeah, sing that chorus bit only you say "Livin' in the Ghettooooo!" I dunno, it's funny dammit...

IE: A love hate relationship
Mood:  party time!
Topic: Mixed bag
Had a nice night out. I just got out of the shower a bit ago and figured I'd clear out the spam box. For some reason it feels like ages since I've been out here, but it was only last Halloween.

All of my friends that moved out of this ugly little tangle of concrete and asphalt tell me how glad they are they got out. And I lived here, and I said those same things, so I understand exactly. But there are things I can have out here that I just can't have in Muleshoe.

Like a smart little witch I got loaded before we went out - the Tornado whisked me up and out, did a couple donuts around some little girl's house and tossed out some Milk Bones for the pup, and landed at Lake Alice. But that's a different weird story, suffice to say it only cost me 2 cover and 2 drinks. Shoppy was already playing, and I wish we'd gotten there earlier so I could have heard more. The Debonaires were fantastic too, and we wandered next door to the tobacco lounge to hear a horn player blow for the blues band there. She calls it the Tour de Men and I can understand why. Hell, we even had to walk through Worthingtons Tavern on our way there.

When I saw the commercial for the PSP my covet meter went *doink* and I started doing the toy! voice. You may have not heard that yet and you probably don't want to. It looked like it wouldn't play the old Playstation games, and that bothered me because that was the strongest thing about the Sony line of games. Well this dude out here has one and I got to play with it. Zippy as hell, I say. If I had one I imagine little else would get done. Look at the amount of time I waste typing on these things and reading them from other people.

Everything is bigger in Texas but the tortillas. It drives me fucking bonkers sometimes. I have yet to find a burrito size tortilla for sale out there, and the only burritos that are the size I like have sauce on them. You know they aren't built to be served dry and hand held. So stopping at Alberto's for a california burrito was absolutely perfect. That's a burrito you can make a handy meal out of.

I did manage to get back to Wolf's before sunrise. Not only did I make promised game posts, but managed to call and make the hubby late for work. Hehee.

Okay, so I can get all the Sims I want at home. I still played.

So, so posh. I've got the laptop up on this seriously trippin' barstool so I can post while sitting on...[pulsing lights, cue music]

Our new living room furniture!

Recliners all over the place - 4 of them among the two pieces we have. Plus a hide-a-bed one is coming in a couple weeks. But that's not all. New coffee table, the hubby's new end table, and me rearranging the living room some.

So I guess all this prize action is just a cool veneer over spring cleaning. If I can keep my back cooperating with me I have a bunch of shit I need to get done before I'm flung halfway across the continent to that savage Californian frontier. And this year it's sooner than ever.

Is that all? The heck you say... Guess what I'm using to light up the living room today - a lamp? a candle? a mysterious brazier seeping unholy incense? No - I'm using the layer of snow outside. It is fekkin' cold out there! Haven't done my daily trek for kitties and mail, and with it like this I'm gonna wait until I know I can do it all in one fast trip.

So I'm gonna kick it in here with the music and the chatroom action and see how many of the little chores I can get done. Oh, get this: somebody has my damn nick on IRC. He was in #italy so maybe that means something. I'm not usually on during the day anyway, but now that's being mutated into a whole new sleep schedule.

Point? There was no point to this entry.
