No, I didn't die.
I've been psychotically lax in the upkeep of this blog, I know. I've been... well, sick, busy, tired, distracted - all manner of lame excuses for not updating this thing.
But I do have one good one - there is a good chance that this may be the last entry in this particular blog venue. I've got a potential new place to comment randomlike, and as soon as I get used to it and make things just so, well I'll let y'all know all about it.
Yes, I can smell your excitement from here.
Oh - and just to let you know that I haven't been completely missing:
Ho-
Lee-
FUCK!
Did you see the reunion show for Runway? OMG, is Vincent a total fucking prick or what? Did you see that insane hissy fit he pitched over his clothes? Somebody seriously needs to up their dosage. Where does Mr. Jetsons Dress get off telling the others that they're amateurs anyway? And that BS about Tim not liking him and talking down to him - oy Vincent, get over yourself and your head out of your ass. My hyperactive niece can design better clothes than you can. Oh, and that shithead Keith that got his lame ass kicked off can just go jump off a bridge for all I care. Everything he said in his defense regarding being booted for cheating was total crap.
Man, you have no idea how insane I have been going wanting to post the Runway dish and not wanting to deal with the Tripod ick that I should soon be rid of.
PS - I will be in California on Tuesday. I'll be up in the bay area for the last weekend of northern Faire, then I'll jaunt down to the IE real quick for the Tornado's haunted b-day luau and to visit the fam and friends. It'll be about a 2 week visit.

Vincent got himself booted off the Runway, but at least he didn't make a space dress this time around. He had to have his fun sleeve action, of course, but it at least looked like a dress.

Made from a couch.

I'm glad that Mikey managed to squeak through this one. He knew he was weak in this showing, but he wasn't the worst. Poor Kayne is definitely the Austin Scarlet of this season, and he nearly pageanted himself off the show.

Yeah, I hate that Jeffer guy, but he did another good dress. I didn't say he couldn't do it. Far from it actually, 'cause as soon as I realized how much I hate him I knew he was a shoo in for the final 3 villain.

Did you catch Vincent's little end speech tho'? All he ever says is that he likes it and that it got him off. WTF is up with him?

Could I possibly hate that tattooed asshole any more? He just wouldn't shut his fat gob up about Angela and her mom and how they were supposedly trying to sabotage him. Please please oh please Angela, cut that tattoo off him and use it as a gag to shut him the fuck up.
Tonight's Project Runway was yet another big bunch of crazy twists. The models got another easy out because this time the designers were making a jet-set outfit for themselves. Okay, yes - Jefferey's design was smashing, the jacket was nothing short of entirely cool, and he totally deserved to win. I still hate him. What I don't understand is why everyone hated Kayne's outfit so much. Yes, I know - Elvis; but Kayne's from Oklahoma people, so Elvis is really not that far into the tacky scale, all things considered. Maybe it looked more horrible close up or something, I thought the deal on the back actually looked cool. Maybe not jet-set, but still kinda neat, ya know.
And you just knew that Angela was in way over her head. I knew she would get eliminated eventually, and having her try to make something even in the neighborhood of 'jet-set' was just not gonna happen. I must admit that I was surprised at how cute her outfit looked initially when she came down the runway. But on closer inspection you could see that her fabric choice was just wrong. Oh, and knock if off with the fucking rosettes already!
What I'm really surprised about is that they didn't go off on the two simplest designs up there tonight. Yes, Laura's dress looked nice (and didn't she look great once she got out of that executive bitch hairdo?) but I thought it was far too plain. Her taste is always classic and clean, but a little embellishment can't hurt. And Vincent - oh man was that awful. Could you possibly try to suck any more than you already do? Honey, you ain't a ninja, so leave the black pajamas idea in the reject bin where it belongs. At least it wasn't space pants, like I thought he would make.
So now our designers are in Paris. I wonder what sort of crazy shit they plan to make them do while they're out of the country. Poor Angela better get herself a quickie tour before they ship her ass back home, because I don't think she's gonna make it back to Gay Paris any time soon.

I knew the stupid autoformat bullshit would get to me. See it down there in the survey thing? You know, those extra <> thingies. I didn't put them there. In fact, I have had to edit those damn things out of almost every entry since they made the autoformat bullshit mandatory on the blog poster.
Well I'm not gonna do it anymore, those stupid things can stay for all I fucking care. There are several other annoying things that the blog posting console does that are working my last nerve. As soon as I find some better place to put this blog I believe that I will be moving Random Commentary. I'll keep ya posted.

While doing my protracted browsage at the Hastings I found that Dirty Vegas finally put out a new album named One. I really liked their self titled debut, so I figured I'd pick this one up.
Don't like it. It's not awful, the songs don't make my soul hurt to listen to them, I just don't like it. It's too nice and europoppy for me. And I tried as hard as I could not to skip around on it until I heard the whole thing, in case there was a song on it that I liked. There isn't. I don't like this album.
If you want it, let me know and I will send it to you, because taking it back to the Hastings for store credit hardly seems worth it.

Insanity on the Runway
Mood:
suave
Topic: Brain candy
It was entirely cute that they decided to bring in everyone's moms (well, there were a couple sisters in the mix) to be models for this week's Project Runway. I mean, is that a great twist or what? I just can't believe that Vincent's dress won. What the fuck is up with that? It wasn't the usual horrorfest that his dresses tend to be, but those fucking lapels looked like they were ready for takeoff. Was it the fucking Brady Bunch hour tonight, or am I just insane? Uli should have won - the outfit she made was gorgeous, totally her, and it fit Kayne's mom like nobody's business. Oh but no, they had to let Vincent get a win in. Oy!
It's looking like Angela is gonna have to stab tattoo neck. He was such a fucking prick tonight! He gets all uppity because his model (Angela's mom, of course - but you know he wouldn't have picked her, he got stuck with her) didn't like his color choices. Well, how fucking hard is it to pick out dark purple and dark green when that's what she asks for? He just had to put in periwinkle (powder blue) which is not only not green or purple, but it's not dark. That asshole made her cry - what a total pinhead. He should have gotten the axe (in his head) tonight, not only because he thinks he's better than his client but because the outfit he made was ugly.
But no, he didn't - poor Robert got booted instead. But we all knew that this was coming, because he has been hanging out in safe land for far too long. He did it again tonight too - the deal he made was just way too basic, too simple, and a total yawn (despite the fact that his model liked it). I'm sorry to see him go, but he did take it with dignity.

Dad makes a (slightly belated) birthday visit
Mood:
not sure
Topic: Born into it
I'm right in the middle of another Dad visit, the first one in a while in fact. He's been meaning to stop by for about a year now and only just got things situated to where he could. Originally he would have been here for the actual day, but he had eyelid surgery that made him have to postpone things until yesterday.
So far the visit has been basically pleasant, which isn't a surprise. We basically get along, especially when I just go ahead and let him do all the talking. Hell, when the hubby got home I just let Dad talk to him while I got up and cooked dinner, because really, it was gonna be a lot of talking anyway.
He brought his little terrier with him this time. My sisters think this whole dog thing is funny as hell, and now I can see why. He just loves that little critter, talks to her all the time, talks about her all the time, dotes on her and everything. It's not quite that sickening level of pet parentage, but it's in the neighborhood. And that little dog just loves him - growls at anyone that gets too near him if you're not careful. Oy, his little baby!
I have no idea what the big plan is for tomorrow - I imagine he'll want to finish up the yardwork that we started yesterday. Now is that weird or what? He decided that the lawn was too shaggy (which it was, since the riding lawnmower has decided to go on strike, again), so he pushed the other mower while I lugged the weedeater around. He just loves all that crazy work shit. I figure we may end up hitting Clovis sometime this visit, maybe get a bottle of wine and hit some store for a bit of browsage.
Anyway, assuming nothing psychotic happens and I end up blurting out something stupid, this visit will be entirely tame and not worth another entry. I've got me fingers crossed.
