Luvs the Hubby
Mood:  crushed out
Topic: Life in Texas
So we get this so lovely solid freeze here for 2 days straight. I peeped out the back door around noon on the 1st day and the cat trough was still a solid block.

Normally this would be total dread - me bundling up, finding gloves (hopefully), and hauling my ass out to break ice on the cattle tank. Except me and the Hubby had already rolled a sheep tank under the no freeze spigot we had put in some time back. Now I just gotta trek a ways out and turn on the tap. Aw yeah, much better.

Now the only heavy labor is scooping cotton seed for the critters. Well, that and the treadmill.

A month already? Eeesh.

The holidays have taken over my life for 2 holidays. And of course I am procrastinating my ass off on the impending xmasage.

Can't imagine why...

DOOM-A-LAY got her like Inuyasha got Kagome
Mood:  chillin'
Topic: Brain candy
So get this, the bro-in-law hit a windfall at the tables and send the hubby some cashage for his tax bill. Along with all that he slips in an extra c-note for yours truly with instructions to take the hubby out on a dinner date and to blow the remains at the store of my choosing.

So today was date day, and let me tell you it was all good. Double good, indeed, because my purchase of choice was the Danger Doom album that [as] has been pimping the fuck out of for weeks now. The Mouse and the Mask is fucking awesome. Listened to it all the way home and laughed more than once. The beats are tight, the bass is bumpin' - all I can say to get across how excellent this chunk of music is, is this:

YEEEEEEEAAAAAH!

It rocks, yo!

Candy peddler
Mood:  party time!
Topic: Life in Texas
This would have been posted earlier if the hubby's cam-phone-thingy was nice and liked to cooperate. But no, it's evil and should be spanked.

Anyway, had a nice time freaking kids out and making them do tricks for candy. Okay, only one trick, and a lame one at that - "Say trick or treat." I literally had at least 5 kids totally speechless when they saw me.

Pics inside, if you dare...

Your Brain's Pattern
Your mind is an incubator for good ideas, it just takes a while for them to develop.
But when you think of something, watch out!
Your thoughts tend to be huge, and they come on quickly - like an explosion.
You tend to be quiet around others, unless you're inspired by your next big idea.
What Pattern Is Your Brain?

Interesting article about ADHD and how it may not necessarily be something that requires a cure. I've always been a bit leery of the automatic assumption that you need to cure your kid of being a bit rambunctious and unable to learn and behave just like every other child. Hell, that was most of my childhood right there. One of my nieces is doing the Ritalin thing now - and yes, she is definitely a handful and a half - so I wonder if this applies to her and could indeed be ruining her future potential.

Lots of blank space here. Not a good thing.

Actually, the thing that's keeping me from posting is work on the 2nd Evolutions story. It's taking longer than I expected. Almost too long...

But really, very little has been going on around here. The most exciting thing I have to report is that we got rained on. Not even an entire inch.

New ride
Mood:  happy
Topic: Life in Texas
We got a new car today. Had to, actually - gassing up the pickup was starting to get out of control. At first the plan was to get one of those little econo-boxes, just a little commuter deal for the hubby to drive to work in. But somehow fate decided to shine on us and a perfect trade-in landed in our lap. We're picking it up in a couple days - they gotta do the little clean up bits to it. So we are now the proud owners of the proverbial 'owned by a little old lady who never drove it except on Sundays' type car - a '99 Le Sabre, moss green, with plenty of extras.

DIE BACTERIA DIE!

Oddly enough, this time I got something of an advance warning - instead of waking up with half my head throbbing I ended up dealing with a couple days of wet itchy annoyance.

This time the clinic decided maybe we oughta jam a swab in there and CSI us up a culture. That's right you fucking microscopic bastards, we'll know exactly who you are and make you pay. Pay I tell you!
