I have mistaken my date of departure countless times. In case you have not yet heard, I am not leaving on Sunday the 5th but Friday the 3rd.
Yes, I am a dumbass.

Anyway, we broke out the Mage Knight figures, a small pile of d6s apiece, and had a rousing game of...
Shadowrun! Wolf loaded up Pistolero for me because it was the perfect theme song, and Smedge and that crazy Chuco took care of some crazy gangers in the Barrens. The opposing mage ran a car at them, but made the mistake of firing a huge powerball in front of him and crashed himself more than he trashed the two PCs. Took us a few hours to set up, deliberate, and play out 4 rounds of combat. Maybe a couple minutes.
Geekery, I know. It's been a while since I've had to coordinate so many cubes and things. I need to wrap this one up soon. May have to come up with a plot twist. Did I tell you that they geeked one of the main NPCs I'd made up? Outright blasted him on this woman's voicemail. That's harsh, yo!
FrogZard... any of you know wtf that is? ;{)>
Having the theatre to just us (also wic Shygirl n Laz) was grand. I could have had an aneurysm in there...
Anyway - go, now!
Watched the Spongebob Squarepants Movie around noon. Giggled my ass off through most of it. Not much to say about it though - if you think Spongebob is stupid then it's a movie length mess of stupid. Pretty much what I expected, which is a good thing.
After that (and a brunch break, etc...) we peeped out Nausicaa (+ umlaut), which is this rather involved little anime flick. I just love that Miyazaki dude - he can take some of the hokiest ideas that would drive me nuts in any other movie, and just make them into these amazing things. Fun fun watch, with some great ideas and visuals.
Then, just to spice things up, we took a quick drive over to the little ghetto theatre near here and hit the Hitchhiker's Guide. Again, giggled through most of the movie. It wasn't 100% - they did that damn romantic angle thing and I'm still not totally with the Mos Def as Ford thing (I mean he did play it up strange and quite bland, which seems to be the Ford Prefect I ought to expect...), but in all I would say it's basically faithful to the Guide. Plus the effects were rather zippy.
I might have to get me a dart gun and find some helpless victim at Faire to aim it at. I mean, it's not like I can bring a bottle of Wild Turkey on site with me. Anybody know a good hypnotist?

No idea wtf I'll be doing tomorrow til she gets home. Other than sleep of course. I may need my rest since there is this plan to do some sort of hill hikey thing.
Didn't get the Shadowrun game started the other night like I wanted. Gladius took over now that we've gotten pretty far along on it. It still boggles how much it looks like how I pictured many elements for Myth. Haven't talked Gryphage into playing it yet but I think he could be persuaded once he gets to read some of the better bits of background material. Gaming is chaos, of course. Had to have the hubby grab my KoE book so I can finish my character for that one.
And speaking of him - did I mention that he broke his foot. Not like snap, sprawling in pain, cast - he broke the end off of some small bone or something in his ankle (they want to do another x-ray) and it's in a horrible spot and inflamed. The doc put a boot on him because he didn't want to do crutches. And he's supposed to be coming out to Cali for the weekend and hit Faire on Sunday. Oy, gonna need a wheelchair.
I fear the fungus. I can say no more.
Do this, it amuses me: You know that song by Van Halen, Running With the Devil? Yeah, sing that chorus bit only you say "Livin' in the Ghettooooo!" I dunno, it's funny dammit...
Happy green day.
