I am not online
Mood:  chatty
Topic: Nothing in particular
I had this machine packed away about an hour ago. But then the addiction started in and I had to unpack it and go online. But I did have a good excuse - I needed to fix a couple yahoo groups so they didn't end up flooding my ebox again and locking things up like my last screeching profanityfest.

So of course I'm in the #bearcave now, chatting about nothing with my online pals. And I'm randomly surfing around to keep my brain occupied. I figure I may as well just stay online because I have to flip my sleep schedule around for Sunday so I'll actually be awake at the ass crack of dawn for my flight.

Really, that's a perfectly good reason to be online, right? It's not just my addiction. Honest.

It had to happen
Mood:  not sure
Topic: Life in Texas
We've been dreading it. Every time we hear about it on the news we wonder how it's going to affect us. It's the mad cow thing. We were sure that it was just a little annoyance, some thing we hear about on the news that makes silly people panic.

It doesn't seem so silly when it happens to you. We had to shoot 2 of the cows when they started acting funny. There's a 3rd one that we're keeping an eye on. We're expecting an official inspector tomorrow, and we hope he doesn't quarantine the entire place off. If the big heifer is infected then we're screwed, because we were planning to sell her for a bundle to pay the bank off.

More bad news...

Topic: It's all about me
I'm about halfway packed for my trip out to cali. I still have to narrow down which books I'm going to need, so I don't end up bringing my entire library like I keep trying to do every year. We're going to do last minute necessities shopping tomorrow. Then I pack everything up, including this computer, and use the remaining time to comfort the hubby on his 2 month hiatus from my amazing and and sunny persona.

Yes, there was sarcasm in there.

FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK
Mood:  irritated
Topic: Bitchy rants
That's 2 fucks for each thing pissing me off:

I take 1 night off from the internet, 1 motherfucking night, and somehow something huge gets sent to my mailbox and exceeds my disk quota. This is annoying, but not so much that I want to put my fist through a wall. What makes me nearly homicidal about it is that this has locked up my mailbox. Now, how in the fuck does preventing me from checking my mail and getting those messages off their little bitch server help the fact that there are too many messages in my inbox? Fucking tech geeks and their retard logic.

But things can't seem to piss me off singly. No, that would be far too easy. The two games I've been playing on IRC have had to go to a post format because one of our group went and got a real life and can't quite schedule for late night gaming right now. At first we moved them to a mail group (google's, which kinda sucked, then yahoo's) but we got tired of the whole delay thing. I suggested moving them to rondaks. I don't know if the D&D game has made it through yet, but I haven't seen it. You see, in order to run a game on rondaks you have to submit an application for it and have it accepted. Now isn't that the stupidest fucking ego bullshit you've ever heard? I've submitted my Mage game twice now, and it's been rejected both times for completely bullshit reasons. Here, look for yourself:

It appears this is a private game, but you should make that clearer. And please either change it to unlurkable or give a bit of description.

It sounds as though this is a private game (i.e. you already have all your players). If so, please say so clearly at the top of the description

What the fuck difference does it make? I just brought 2 new people to your little ego fortress and you expect me to put up with this crap, you little shit monkeys? If I didn't have my BCB game so fully entrenched on there I'd cancel my account for this affront. Bullshit, pure and simple.

They will pay for their insolence.

I swear to you, all I gave them was a name and a gender. I have no idea how they figured out what I've been secretly doing in the bomb shelter (now known as the dungeon) for the past 8 years.

Finding a clue

I saw the advert for the DVD of Finding Neverland today, and the end of it just irked the crap out of me: they had to preface Johnny Depp's name. Now really, who in the fuck hasn't heard of Johnny Depp by now? He's a selling point, for fuck's sake. But no, apparently the people who made that ad were unaware of Depp's popularity because they called him "Pirates of the Carribean's Johnny Depp." Because we all know that was his breakthrough hit film.

Nuggets.

Finding god

So with this new laptop/recliner/tv situation I have there are plenty of stimuli to keep me bored in the afternoon. The TNG ep with the traveller guy is on. It hits me on so many levels.

Listening to that alien dude practically stroke himself to a money shot talking about Wesley's amazing ability with warp is just painful to watch. Painful. I never could take that plot line seriously because of the travellin' man.

That and the awww... factor of daddy Picard taking the youngun' under his wing. Shoulda slapped him for wearing that ick sweater though. Lose the sweater and you have Cosby cute, I swear.

And of course this being the one that started that whole Wesley is God thing. That was amusing. And really, that's all I have to say about it.

The early TNG eps were kinda blah though. They were still setting things up, getting under the skin. Having a fat dose of it and DS9 in the middle of the day ensures at least 2 hours of entertainment while I move laundry around.

So, so posh. I've got the laptop up on this seriously trippin' barstool so I can post while sitting on...[pulsing lights, cue music]

Our new living room furniture!

Recliners all over the place - 4 of them among the two pieces we have. Plus a hide-a-bed one is coming in a couple weeks. But that's not all. New coffee table, the hubby's new end table, and me rearranging the living room some.

So I guess all this prize action is just a cool veneer over spring cleaning. If I can keep my back cooperating with me I have a bunch of shit I need to get done before I'm flung halfway across the continent to that savage Californian frontier. And this year it's sooner than ever.

Is that all? The heck you say... Guess what I'm using to light up the living room today - a lamp? a candle? a mysterious brazier seeping unholy incense? No - I'm using the layer of snow outside. It is fekkin' cold out there! Haven't done my daily trek for kitties and mail, and with it like this I'm gonna wait until I know I can do it all in one fast trip.

So I'm gonna kick it in here with the music and the chatroom action and see how many of the little chores I can get done. Oh, get this: somebody has my damn nick on IRC. He was in #italy so maybe that means something. I'm not usually on during the day anyway, but now that's being mutated into a whole new sleep schedule.

Point? There was no point to this entry.
