Homework
Mood:  chillin'
Topic: Head games
I just love it when I've got so many games up in the air that I have to go double time to keep things moving. Not only am I in 3 games that have been periodically mentioned, I've got a Kindred of the East game lining up and a Shadowrun game that I plan to run while I'm out here. With dice and paper and pencils and actually seeing the other players and everything. Weird.

Only I'm doing the psycho anal pregen thing sort of, which means I'm supposed to be reading some stuff and taking notes on the dastardly things they'll have to endure from me. We've already roughed out the characters, and I gotta figure the shopping list for building our street sam. I'm thinking they should drive around in a tricked out and armored Hummer, an idea courtesy of my happy hostess.

But now that I've been using the wild crap that runs around in my head all the time I'm finding it harder to tie together unlikely events. All of my good ideas are in play already - at least the ones I've had lately. I'm in post hell right now because rondaks won't connect and I've got irons in the fire.

Feast or famine, I tells ya.

I've gone corporate. Can you believe I actually was up, awake and ready to go to work before the double digits this morning?

Yes you heard that right folks, or saw - whatever, work. I was at it. An office job sorting orders and envelopes with tickets in them. 2 days in a row no less. Now I gotta work on how to cash my paychecks. You know I'm only going to buy bad things with it...

Anyway, so I'm actually in that weird spacey-tired from having worked all day place. Blogging about it actually seems kinda stupid right now, so maybe I'll just hit post and go on to the next thing.

IE: A love hate relationship
Mood:  party time!
Topic: Mixed bag
Had a nice night out. I just got out of the shower a bit ago and figured I'd clear out the spam box. For some reason it feels like ages since I've been out here, but it was only last Halloween.

All of my friends that moved out of this ugly little tangle of concrete and asphalt tell me how glad they are they got out. And I lived here, and I said those same things, so I understand exactly. But there are things I can have out here that I just can't have in Muleshoe.

Like a smart little witch I got loaded before we went out - the Tornado whisked me up and out, did a couple donuts around some little girl's house and tossed out some Milk Bones for the pup, and landed at Lake Alice. But that's a different weird story, suffice to say it only cost me 2 cover and 2 drinks. Shoppy was already playing, and I wish we'd gotten there earlier so I could have heard more. The Debonaires were fantastic too, and we wandered next door to the tobacco lounge to hear a horn player blow for the blues band there. She calls it the Tour de Men and I can understand why. Hell, we even had to walk through Worthingtons Tavern on our way there.

When I saw the commercial for the PSP my covet meter went *doink* and I started doing the toy! voice. You may have not heard that yet and you probably don't want to. It looked like it wouldn't play the old Playstation games, and that bothered me because that was the strongest thing about the Sony line of games. Well this dude out here has one and I got to play with it. Zippy as hell, I say. If I had one I imagine little else would get done. Look at the amount of time I waste typing on these things and reading them from other people.

Everything is bigger in Texas but the tortillas. It drives me fucking bonkers sometimes. I have yet to find a burrito size tortilla for sale out there, and the only burritos that are the size I like have sauce on them. You know they aren't built to be served dry and hand held. So stopping at Alberto's for a california burrito was absolutely perfect. That's a burrito you can make a handy meal out of.

I did manage to get back to Wolf's before sunrise. Not only did I make promised game posts, but managed to call and make the hubby late for work. Hehee.

Okay, so I can get all the Sims I want at home. I still played.

You would think the fucking plane crashed...
Mood:  celebratory
Topic: It's all about me
I've been in California since Sunday afternoon and you'd think I would have at least put a single letter in this little text boxy thing. Oh but no - I forgot all about you. All 2 of you that actually hang in front of your monitor, your eyes glazed and red, salivating for want of an update. You want it... you know you want it. You crave it like a good piece of cheese.

Doing fine basically. Losing track of time once in a while, you know, but having a nice visit. I've made almost all the rounds by now. I just need to be whisked away by the Tornado and eventually set foot on Faire site. It's all chaos around here friends and neighbors. That quiet sneaky kind of chaos that hangs around the house in its underwear, scratching itself and mumbling about some kind of cheese. But it's the good cheese and you can't get it anymore.

So I suppose when I really know what's going on, or when something remarkable occurs I'll peep in and leave a message. Or you know, maybe we find the cheese. Whatever.

I am not online
Mood:  chatty
Topic: Nothing in particular
I had this machine packed away about an hour ago. But then the addiction started in and I had to unpack it and go online. But I did have a good excuse - I needed to fix a couple yahoo groups so they didn't end up flooding my ebox again and locking things up like my last screeching profanityfest.

So of course I'm in the #bearcave now, chatting about nothing with my online pals. And I'm randomly surfing around to keep my brain occupied. I figure I may as well just stay online because I have to flip my sleep schedule around for Sunday so I'll actually be awake at the ass crack of dawn for my flight.

Really, that's a perfectly good reason to be online, right? It's not just my addiction. Honest.

It had to happen
Mood:  not sure
Topic: Life in Texas
We've been dreading it. Every time we hear about it on the news we wonder how it's going to affect us. It's the mad cow thing. We were sure that it was just a little annoyance, some thing we hear about on the news that makes silly people panic.

It doesn't seem so silly when it happens to you. We had to shoot 2 of the cows when they started acting funny. There's a 3rd one that we're keeping an eye on. We're expecting an official inspector tomorrow, and we hope he doesn't quarantine the entire place off. If the big heifer is infected then we're screwed, because we were planning to sell her for a bundle to pay the bank off.

More bad news...

I'm about halfway packed for my trip out to cali. I still have to narrow down which books I'm going to need, so I don't end up bringing my entire library like I keep trying to do every year. We're going to do last minute necessities shopping tomorrow. Then I pack everything up, including this computer, and use the remaining time to comfort the hubby on his 2 month hiatus from my amazing and and sunny persona.

Yes, there was sarcasm in there.

FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK
Mood:  irritated
Topic: Bitchy rants
That's 2 fucks for each thing pissing me off:

I take 1 night off from the internet, 1 motherfucking night, and somehow something huge gets sent to my mailbox and exceeds my disk quota. This is annoying, but not so much that I want to put my fist through a wall. What makes me nearly homicidal about it is that this has locked up my mailbox. Now, how in the fuck does preventing me from checking my mail and getting those messages off their little bitch server help the fact that there are too many messages in my inbox? Fucking tech geeks and their retard logic.

But things can't seem to piss me off singly. No, that would be far too easy. The two games I've been playing on IRC have had to go to a post format because one of our group went and got a real life and can't quite schedule for late night gaming right now. At first we moved them to a mail group (google's, which kinda sucked, then yahoo's) but we got tired of the whole delay thing. I suggested moving them to rondaks. I don't know if the D&D game has made it through yet, but I haven't seen it. You see, in order to run a game on rondaks you have to submit an application for it and have it accepted. Now isn't that the stupidest fucking ego bullshit you've ever heard? I've submitted my Mage game twice now, and it's been rejected both times for completely bullshit reasons. Here, look for yourself:

It appears this is a private game, but you should make that clearer. And please either change it to unlurkable or give a bit of description.

It sounds as though this is a private game (i.e. you already have all your players). If so, please say so clearly at the top of the description

What the fuck difference does it make? I just brought 2 new people to your little ego fortress and you expect me to put up with this crap, you little shit monkeys? If I didn't have my BCB game so fully entrenched on there I'd cancel my account for this affront. Bullshit, pure and simple.

They will pay for their insolence.
